I recommend using the space character since the half-duplex link is going to repeat the character to you. Click in the black half of the terminal window, and send a character to the ECU. Turn the key on, but don't start the engine. Verify in the status bar the baud rate got set and the port is Open.

Install it, and from the port tab, select your VAG-COM cable port, type "125000" into the baud rate box (it's a dropdown, but you can type your own value in as well) and select "Open" to open the serial port at 125000baud. To verify connectivy, grab a copy of the wonderful free program RealTerm from. I recommend verifying successful connectivity to the ECU before attempting to use TunerPro RT to connect, but you can just go ahead and try to connect, it can't hurt. You can find these in the Binaries and TunerPro Files section. For bench testing the rev5_test.adx is needed, and for logging in the car you need to use the rev5.adx file. adx file is the data logging file that must be setup in TunerPro RT for logging functionality to work.
